E137: Understand Bags, Backs, and Boots for Survival

Survival bags, packs, and boots can be an overwhelming topic for some, oddly. For many, it becomes a complicated topic at first blush. With good reason: There’s a lot of options, a lot of brands, and a lot of nuances dependent on specific applications and budget.

But in this episode we’re joined by Marshall Hoots of Going Gear. He’s going to uncomplicate the topic and break it all down for us in simple terms.

    Great episode.

I’ve been putting some serious gear through it’s paces recently in the wilderness here in the UK.

I’m rocking the Osprey Atmos AG 50 and loving it. I have a smaller Manta 28 for a day-pack/grab bag too. I’ve been through more boots than I care to think go looking for the perfect pair as well, which I feel like I’ve finally found.

Actually I’ve been though so much gear of late, I should do a pile of reviews. Up for listener gear reviews??
